Ireland’s first national homecare conference takes place on Friday March 28th 2014 at Ballsbridge Hotel Dublin from 9:00am-5:00pm. This inaugural event will provide policy makers, care professionals, service providers, patients, carers and all stakeholders with a clear picture of the current state of home care in Ireland as well as the international and national issues which are likely to influence the sector in the future.

Current speakers include Dr Geoffrey Shannon Special Rapporteur on Child Protection, Dr Aegis Tsouros of the World Health Organisation, John Sweeney Director of Healthcare Informed, Stephan McMahon CEO of the Irish Patients Association and Andrew McFarlane of the Netwell Centre.

The first Friday morning session has been designed specifically for policy makers and service providers, and will examine the sector in Ireland and Europe to develop a plan for the evolution of home care in this country.

The second session will address issues relevant to care professionals and will focus on the practical, evidence-based management of clinical scenarios which are common to this patient population.

The conference will include a trade exhibition which will be open to the industry on the Friday and the general public all day Saturday. This area will include service and product providers covering all areas of home care, ranging from pediatrics and disabilities to the elderly. The exhibition will also include interactive workshops and panel presentations where the medical, social and personal needs of patients and carers will be addressed.
